Well Wishes to Bill. We all hope for a speedy recovery. He is having his procedure this Thursday.

Next Thursday the District Governor, Singh Ajmani, will be visiting Thursday September 6, 2018.

Ed Grimes from the Crafton Rotary is working on a proof coin we can present to Eagle Scouts.

There are now 73 eagle scouts from Troop 2.

Todays Visitor:

Norm from Troop 2 visited this week.  Norm was wearing his Scout uniform from when he was in college in Italy.  Norm enlightened with a story of from the 1900's when there was no mass communication sources like there are today.

At a time when United States only had 46 states,  Europe was getting tense. Robert Baden-Powell was the garrison commander during the subsequent Siege of Mafeking, which lasted 217 days.  It was his time when he was the commander that he started assigning soldier jobs to young men. On his return from Africa in 1903, Baden-Powell found that his military training manual, Aids to Scouting, had become a best-seller, and was being used by teachers and youth organizations.

The first book on the Scout Movement, Baden-Powell's Scouting for Boys was published in six instalments in 1908, and has sold approximately 150 million copies as the fourth best-selling book of the 20th century. Boys and girls spontaneously formed Scout troops and the Scouting Movement had inadvertently started, first as a national, and soon and international phenomenon.

Tickets are available. Sell early, sell often.  If you need more tickets please see Dale.

Lastly, Great day at South Fayette Community Day, we received interest by two more possible cookers for Cook Off. Thanks to all you attended.
"Student of the Month" . . .  Joe has volunteered to organize an ongoing program that would allow our club to publicly recognize a student of the month from among the CV high school students. Meetings with the superintendents will begin after this year's scholarship recognition luncheon on May 3rd.  More details to follow.
